After more than a decade in the freight industry, I realized the biggest problem wasn't capacity, it was communication. During my time working at a $100 million a year brokerage and growing another one from $12 million to $40 million, I saw firsthand how quickly a lack of transparency could derail a supply chain.
I've always believed that while you can't control everything on the road, you can always control how you communicate. In my executive roles, I focused heavily on integrating cutting edge tech not to replace people, but to give our team the freedom to proactively take care of customers and carriers.
